Around the Bufi Lake

Southeast of Butrint Lake there is a smaller lake called Bufi Lake, whose shape resembles a triangle. Bufi lake, also called Rreza Lake, has a length of about two kilometers and an average depth of about one meter. This is an interesting destination for nature lovers to spend a day in. During this journey, do not miss the chance to see the agricultural land planted with citrus from the Xarra cooperatives. Bufi lake was part of Butrint Lake. Like the Butrint Lake, the water content has considerable amounts of salt. The area between the two lakes are wet, and temporarily may be covered by water. In wetlands between two lakes rise the hill of Kalivo with a height of 81 meters, which during the Bronze Age was habitable and in the 6th century BC was surrounded by a wall, which reach up to 1300 meters in length.
