Description of the trail from Razem to Boga via Fushe
e Zeze
Razem is one of the nearest tourist attractions from
Shkodra, which is only 43 km aways from it. It is a part of the administrative
area of Shkrel and the municipality of "Malesia e Madhe", which
literary means "Great Mountains". Indeed,
the beauties of Mountains in Razem have been described in written form already in
the 19th century - by the botanist Antonio Baldaci and the geologist Baroni
Nopcsa.
After 1900, not only shepherds used this place as a summer pasture but also
Shkoda's merchants built their summer houses here as their living standard
improved. In 1953 the Communit government took possession of this area and set
up a recreation camp for workers. Excursions to the recreation camp were mainly
made during winter. The recreation camp was used until the fall of communism in
1990.
There is only one hiking trail from Razem to
Fushë Zezë and then to Bogë, which goes along the road to the mountain huts and
the telephone antennas. You need to stay on the road up until the pass
"Qafa Keqe". After arriving at "Rrethi i Pistoletes" down
in the valley, you will come across with the small
village of Luis.
This village is inhabited only between spring and
early autumn. Near this village, there is a cave called "Shpella
Luis" and a mountain with the huts of Gromozhdoli. About 1.5 km after the
village of Luis, you will reach "Gropa e Karrikave": literary “Chair
pit” and after 800 m "Gropa e Thiut": literary “pig pit”. Part of this
path forms a natural tunnel, which is why inhabitants call this spot "near
the tunnel". After about 6 km from Razem, you will reach Fushë Zezë. Fushë
Zezë extends among four peaks under the crown of Veleçik. The centuries-old
beech and pine trees around make the special landscape. Here we can also leave
the road and take the footpath on the right. You can oriente yourself with the
telephone antennas as the way to Bogë runs on their right. When you reach the
path, leave a building without a roof behind you on the right and then you will
arrive at the opposite side of Bogë. When you continue the way down, the path leads
to an area without a path; a forest damaged by forest fire with stones on the
ground. In the summer months and early autumn, the grass grows too high to
watch your steps. It is therefore necessary to equip yourself with sturdy shoes
and long trousers to avoid injuries. After arriving at "Te Gomurt",
the descent becomes even more difficult as the terrain becomes rocky. The rocks
and stones are sharp-edged and breakaway easily. At the end of the slope you will
have the possibility to finish the path towards Bogë centre along the brook bed
or the road.
